Who runs this site, anyway? 

DIY SEO for Therapists was created by Diana Mitchell in early 2025 when she struggled to find a therapist for her child with the appropriate specialization. Diana was actually admitted to several schools for their mental health counseling programs; however, she was unable to pursue her own education in mental health counseling due to balancing school, work, and being a mother to her disabled child. Subsequently, she left her 20-year marketing career, where she had served in a variety of roles, including VP of marketing + PR and head of marketing, and most recently, marketing agency owner. 

Understanding the need for SEO to connect therapists/counselors and patients, she launched this site to provide free, easy-to-implement marketing + SEO advice to practitioners, whether they want to build up their side hustle, or grow a full-time practice.
